We did this project last summer.  This year Hilbert decided to finish the project.  We covered the wood with plywood soffit and added a light in the center of the porch and 2 good looking ceiling fans.  Also an electrical outlet was added to the ceiling and a cable connection for television viewing outside on the patio.  The ceiling fans will serve a great purpose during the hot summer nights.
